Today is my two year wedding anniversary! My husband and I are celebrating in Madrid. This is for you my love, one day you will have a mountain house, I promise!

Aerin Lauder’s perfectly warm yet contemporary mountain house in Aspen.

I would take one of those cozy jackets…although I hope it is faux fur!

Vintage chair and nightstands. Feels toasty and intimate, created by dynamic natural textures of wool, woods and furs.

This is my favorite room. The wood wall, the wood pendant, fur pillows and of course a friendly little bear.

In true Thad Hayes style, elegant yet full of comfort.

Beautiful entry. Love these thin long pavers.

These chairs look so comfortable!

Ethereal sheers and monochromatic color palate paired with light and medium woods. Apparently, Thad Hayes got his color inspiration from sycamore bark…love it.

Mahogany deck.

Poppa bear chair by Hans J. Wegner. Cedar paneling.

A beautiful piece of A-frame architecture by William O’Brien Jr. Love the simplicity and peacefulness the home and its setting exudes.

I am on a plane today starting a long trip, first stop being London and then many more stops to update you with later. So, I leave you with a beautiful project by a fav of mine, Shelton, Mindel & Associates, project 3502.

Poul Henningsen Chandeliers and Jean Prouve barstools in the background.

This coffered ceiling…oh my! Swoon! And what beautiful wainscoting.

Piet Hein barstools. Love these! Love the simplicity of this simple ceiling mounted fixture. Oh, and the paneled wood cabinetry! Sexy and classic!

Floor to ceiling walnut wood walls mirrored by white boiserie walls…um yes, please!

Arne Jacobsen Pot Chairs.

Yrjö Kukkapuro lounge chairs…totally futuristic and really pop in the office.

Stunning and rare Pierre Chapo Stools and dining table.

For friday, let’s have some views. Toshiko Mori Architect designed this New York Hudson Valley retreat for Mary and Sean Kelly of Sean Kelly gallery.

I kind of want to be this You cast-iron sculpture by Antony Gormley’s. Look at those views!

Perfect place to just chill. Poul Kjærholm wicker chaise longue and low table.

A suspended sofa by Poul Kjærholm and the Antony sconce by Serge Mouille are both 1950s. That sconce is nothing but perfection.

Vintage Arne Jacobsen seating with a set of Grand Prix chairs and a Giraffe armchair surrounding a minimalist custom dining table actually set into a polished-concrete floor!

A lovely detail. Love how the bed is made and the gorgeous mix of textiles with the form of the Arne Jacobsen swan chair. Sycamore bed by Mori.
This is an incredible piece of architecture. It’s like a piece of art, almost too beautiful/minimal to live in. Located in Montecito CA, it is a stunning ode to Mies Van der Rohe.

Floating platform steps up to the entrance. Amazing book-matched marble!!

Lots of glass and what a bathroom!

I LOVE this shot!

The lovely David John of YHBHS sent me this amazing project that I went gaga for. Do you think the owner’s would mind if I moved in?

Jean Prouve chair.

Another Jean Prouve chair!

John Maniscalco is so talented at creating contemporary clean spaces with an inviting warmth.

I like this furniture layout.

These bunk beds are pretty fab. Love the purple accent fabric on the chairs.

Fall is my favorite time of year, and whilst I live in LA (no real seasons), I revel in the images of changing leaves, falling leaves, and red barns.

P.S. How is September already over?
A favorite of mine, Pitsou Kedem.

I love this entry door! Just brilliant textures.

I will never tire of floating walnut shelves.

I guess I am pretty speechless.
